Beginning Altered Book with PatSunday, July 15th - 11:00 to 4:00 pm

Sunday, July 15, 2012 • 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Get in on the latest creative craze – altered books. Learn the techniques you'll need to begin creating altered books of your own. Pat will teach you how to cut a niche, make a window, create special cover effects, give color to pages in several ways, use glass and wire, make pop-ups, add embellishment, do image transfers and more.
Almost everything you need will be provided: paints, chalks, gesso, mediums, ephemera and much more.
Tools to bring with you: cork-backed metal-edge ruler, X-Acto, cutting mat, and sharp blades, large Uhu glue stick, sharp scissors, laser photocopies of several family photos, two used hardcover books of at least 250 (sturdy!) pages for altering (can be bought at the Escondido Library shop, usually under $1), and any scrapbook supplies or tools you already have.
Optional: magazine pictures, ephemera, or novelty yarns or ribbons.
We will be using paints, glazes, etc., so please wear old clothes or bring an apron.
$48.
